Wentao joined SignalFire as a software engineer in 2020 to work on the Beacon platform and find the best people working to solve interesting challenges. Prior to SignalFire, he worked at Thumbtack on building products to connect consumers to local businesses.
Wentao graduated from Harvard in 2017 with a degree in Applied Math. He focused his studies on the intersection of computation and economics. His passion for business led him to be involved in Harvard College Consulting Group and lead Cabot MBA in his senior year, which was a program to bring lessons in leadership, decision-making, and marketing to the undergraduate community. As part of his journey to learn how businesses are built, he also took a gap year during college to intern at various startups in areas such as fintech, solar, and 3D printing.
Outside of work, Wentao is Co-Founder of Techquitable Futures, a volunteer organization that helps underrepresented college students prepare for technical interviews. He can also be found biking across different neighborhoods of San Francisco in search of the next best pastry shop.
