Ellen Blix joined SignalFire in 2020 to lead the investor relations effort. In that role, she is responsible for limited partner strategy and communications. Previously, Ellen was a Managing Director in San Francisco at Commonfund Capital, the private capital arm of Commonfund. Ellen was previously a Vice President at BlackRock for six years, where she was an investment strategist. Earlier in her career, Ellen was an investment banker at Lehman Brothers and Wasserstein Perella & Co., both in New York.
Ellen received a S.B. in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. While at MIT, she was a four-year member of the varsity women’s crew team. Ellen currently chairs the board for the Ocean Discovery League, a non-profit focused on supporting accessibility in deep sea exploration, and serves on the board of the Lake Tahoe Ski Club Foundation and as a member of the investment committee for the Foundation for California Community Colleges. Ellen lives in Northern California with her husband and three children, where they love getting outside into nature and in the winter, they can be found alpine ski racing (kids) and cheering (parents) near Lake Tahoe.
